I had an ASUS R9 280x Direct CUII... but it was faulty, i sent it back and am waiting for them to recieve it.. hopefully they are nice about it and i will get a refund.

With the refunded money (if any) i need to get new card, i was wondering what the best R9 280x card is? i heard a lot of good things about the TOXIC, i even saw a few people say it gets close to the performance of a 780(not sure about that though tbh haha).

Anyway, what would be the best card for me to choose? i want to stick with the r9 280x, i would get the gtx 770 but im not too sure, please help me make a dicission :) thanks

If the MSI GTX 770 is the same price, then go for it! But don't strive to get the lighting edition unless you really like to overclock. I find that those cards overclock the best.

*Also, don't forget to select a best answer! It helps out a lot!

Personally, I have a Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB and I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone! But I'd have to say if you want the "best" 280x out there it's probably the TOXIC. I'm not sure about the close to 780 performance thing, but they are some beasts! Either way, the 770 or the 280x TOXIC will satisfy your needs. The basic difference is that the 770 comes with GPU Boost 2.0 and Geforce Experience which has things like game optimization and shadowplay. The 280x has Mantle going for it which we won't quite know the power of that till it releases.

i have thought about getting the 770, if i did it would have to be a 2gb version though... in reality does the 770 and the r9 280x have easily spotted fps differences? if they 100% do not then i think im gonna go for the 770... that faulty card has made me very sceptical about AMD cards :)
