Hi,

My WD hard disk drive make a loud noise with vibration, and is dead now. I tried several things to fix it with the help of dell support and they finally said that its dead. How can I recover my data? I took backup for most but not all. Please advise. Also how much it may cost? Thanks.

it is usually (in the US) about $150-800 to recover the data from a hard drive (depending on model, how badly broken, etc.)
However if you have tried to make it run multiple times with the loud noise, then you may have scratched the DISK part of it, irrevocably destroying data in that sector.

You can call your local Computer repair shop and ask them, they can recommend a good service, or even be able to do it themselves (for less than a national Brand)

Thanks for your reply! I tried to run it many times with that noise but it did not run at all. It gave me 'No bootable device' on blank screen every time.
