After an SSD for the windows drive on a new PC rig I'm currently putting together.

I was going to go for something like a Samsung 840 pro 128BG at around £92 but there's a Kingston M300 120GB for £59.

I imagine the Samsung's components/controller will be better but would that really be worth the extra £33 when either drive run up against the SATA 6GB wall....? They'll both perform the same essentially...won't they?

Solution
SATA 6GB wall??? As in, 6Gbps = 750MB/s? Maybe if you buy two SSDs and set up RAID 0. The Samsung 840 Pro gets about 540 MB/s. It shouldn't hit any wall.

Aahhh, must've picked up that last article wrong then.
I do like the Samsung over the Kingston though - I also don't like the fact that the Kingston is somehow listed as 120 instead of 128...perhaps that's a controller/chipset deficiency, nut surely something like that wouldn't take up 8GB of space?...

Anyway, thanks for the info.
