Why am I so bad/bad luck with computers?

The question states itself. I've been fascinated with computers since a young age, but every time I touch computers, I break them in some way. For example, I tried to upgrade the GPU of my prebuilt HP computer but I fried the mobo with static electricity. I built a computer recently, and took necessary precautions. I fumbled a little bit with the CPU, but it still worked after first breadboard. I put it in the case, and then heard silence, and nothing was moving when everything was plugged in. I confirmed the PSU was not at fault. I think it's the motherboard, or GPU. Anyway, I'm not sure if it's just bad luck or I'm just bad with computers.

If it worked fine out of the case, but not in - sounds like a missing power connector, PSU not on, do you have power to the outlet, power strip on? All standoffs in place screws all snug locking down the mobo, 24 and 4/8 pin connectors fully seated in mobo?

It worked the first time around, I put it in the case, and I tested it, but then it showed no signs of power. anywhere. Fans weren't spinning (CPU and GPU) and I heard nothing. However, I don't know if I screwed the nails to the standoffs tight enough, they were very loose, since I was having trouble with one of them. I tried to breadboard it again but this time it was like in the case: No activity whatsoever. and this was just CPU and PSU, I took it one at a time taking out the GPU and RAM

Try jump starting the mobo by hitting the power pins with a screwdriver or something maybe the wires are in bad or something, if that doesnt work make sure the power plug is in and also plugged into a good and working outlet and the switch on the psu is turned to on, and make sure all the wires 24 and 4/8 are in tight and try again....I did see that some mobo need the cpu fan to be plugged into the mobo to turn on you could try that......

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Just tried it, does not run out of case. PSU fan not moving, CPU fan not moving either.

Pehaps my pins are bent. I fumbled with it the first time around. Could they be bent? I can't tell.
