I'm at my wits end here. My computer will freeze while playing some games. I can play games like Sins of a Solar Empire or Skyrim fine, but when I want to play something like Crusader Kings 2 or any Total War game, my computer will freeze within 5-10 minutes. If left frozen, the computer will shut itself down after about 5 mins. This all occurs after I put in my new graphics card, GTX 760. However, this would also happen when my old card, GTX 560 was installed, but strangely enough the problem had stopped after about two weeks. Here is some basic info I have gathered to narrow down the culprit.
I get NO BSOD. No minidump is created.
CPU and GPU are NOT overheating
Hard Drive is fine, I ran multiple scans checking for bad sectors
I formatted my computer, no luck
If I leave my computer idling all day, it works fine. Also if I just browse the web, it also works. However it will very rarely freeze while watching a stream.
Also, If I play World of Warcraft, my computer is fine, but after I close WoW it will freeze within 15 minutes, no matter what I am doing.
Computer Specs; Asrock Z77 Extreme 3 mobo, GTX 760 4GB GPU, Intel I7 3770 CPU, 850 Watt PSU, and 8 gigs of Corsair ram.

I had a very similar problem and it drove me nuts. The level of frustration was unreal and I could find little or nothing on the forums.

Just prior to this horrible event I was reseating my graphics card after doing some dusting and unknowningly bumped my CPU heat sink with the back of my hand.

What it did was wedge the CPU in the socket in an awkward way. This placed too much pressure over the memory controller on my CPU and would cause my PC to reboot just a few minutes into gaming. However if I did any other activity such as web browsing, working on spreadsheets, typing everything was just fine as if nothing was wrong.

When I tried to remove the CPU I could not get the control arm to come up. It was stuck pretty good. I had to work it back and forth gently for a minute before it freed itself. After reseating it and reapplying the thermal paste my PC has worked fine for about 6-7 months now.

Hope this helps. It may not but I thought I would mention it.
