I recently purchased Deus ex human revolution and immediately hooked my laptop up to my HDTV to do some gaming. Everything was working fine, love the game, was always hitting around 57 - 60 fps couldn't be happier.

However after taking my lappy out to a friends house I realised an annoying lag/stutter even though my fps wasn't dropping below 50? After playing with the settings a bit I also realised that setting SSAO to high it seems to get rid of a lot of the stutter!? but lowered my fps to around 35 - 40 therefore not being as smooth as before (on TV). Iv tried lowering all setting and iv tried forcing vsync on and off under then Nvidia control panel.

My specs: http://postimg.org/image/udww4fwrl/
Its a alienware M14X and I have all the relevant drivers.

Btw I'm not sure if this is relevant but even though I have set the Nvidia high performance processor as the default, when i look under the set multiple displays tab I can see my laptop display is using Intel HD graphics 3000??

I'm at my wits end here, I know it may seen like a minor issue, but its a frustrating one none the less! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading!

I found out my game had been suffering from micro-stutter. I managed to limit this by using timer resolution on maximum settings and using dxtory's fps limiter to 59. Kinda gay that when you buy these expensive systems you have to spend hours finding fixes and such. Well hope this helps someone!
