Does overclocking a CPU change the memory type it supports?

Hello, newbie here
CPU: i7-2600 (non-k)
Memory: Kingston DDR3 1600 4gb (not yet installed)

Might be a stupid question, but can overclocking a CPU change the memory types it supports?
For example the i7 2600 can only support DDR3 1066/1333 so can I overclock it to support 1600? Is there anything else I can do? Or can I just install it no problem?

You cant overclock your cpu as you yourself said its a non k version.
Overclocking a cpu doesnt change RAM tyoe it supports.
If its DDR3 then its gonna be the same.

install ram no problem. oc not change memory types.

Yeah, so should I be using 1333 ram or is 1600 ram alright? Would the 1600 ram be running at lower speeds?

They would be running at a speed which your mobo and cpu supports.
1600 would be running at low speeds.

if mobo support 1600 mhz ram run in 1600mhz . if not ram automatically configured by mobo.

So a 1600 would be running at 1333? Since I can't overclock my CPU... so should I use 1600 or 1333?

Ya 1600 would be running at 1333.
There is no pint using 1600 when its gonna run at 1333.
either way it will run at 1333.
Use any one.

Apparently the 2600 memory frequency is locked to 1333mhz or 1066mhz as well as the multiplier, so even though the motherboard supports higher speed memory using the XMP profile the CPU doesn't.
