best to get a double kit 2x2 - 2x4 if your gaming up to 4x8 if your doing heavy video encoding.
as for the brand other than looks theres not a lot of difference. in performance, cas8 kingston will give exactly the same performance +/-1% as the gskill at the same relative speeds.
Get a 2x4GB G.Skill RipjawsX 160MHz kit , and overclock them by yourself. But before you overclock your RAM , or get RAM higher than 1600 MHz, check your motherboard's compatibility

I'm using a Asus M5A97 motherboard. It's max RAM speed listed at Asus website is 2133hz but I wonder if I can OC it to 2400hz?
I'm not an expert in overclocking, but to be safe, follow the intructions on the Asus website. 2133 MHz would most probably be safe , however, overclocking your RAM would not be as effective as overclocking your CPU and GPU
It won't, but few to NO AMD CPUs can run 2133 let alone 2400, better with a good set of 1866 and can always OC them to 2133 if the CPU can handle it, look to the GSkill Snipers as your best bet

I would go with a dual channel G.skill Ripjaws 1600mhz kit and over clock them if money is an issue you can get a 4gb (2x2gb) for $47.99 from new egg or 8gb (2x4gb) RIPJAWS X 1600mhz for 79.99
