DDR5 and GDDR5

hey guys just planning to get a new graphics card for my PC..but confused between the ddr5 and gddr5 can you guys please elaborate it? what is this all about? which is better?

Well DDR5 would indicate 5th generation DRAM which is still 4-7 years away, considering DDR4 is just starting to be introduced, and very slowly and recently introduced at that. GDDR5 indicates 5th generation Graphics RAM, which is what pretty much all modern GPU cards have. For recent games 1 or 2 GB of GDDR5 RAM is plenty sufficient for about 90% of whatever you want to do with it. Also I admire the Death of the Family profile picture. :)

To add to what FreezeRay said, I would get a 2GB card as 1 GB is not enough for modern games

So that means DDR5 graphics cards share the system RAM and GDDR5 has their own ddr5 gaming memory??
