Need PSU for my new build

I am currently in the middle of a new build and I am looking for a PSU. Nothing over the top. $100 MAX. My components I have already are

Amd Fx-8320
Asus HD 7770 1gb Gdd5
G-Skill Sniper Series 2x4gb 1866 Mhz
IN WIN GT1 White Case

Looking at buying

Asrock Fatal1ity 990fx Kiler or (if I can save some $ on my PSU) the Asrock 990fx Extreme 9. Though I am not sold on the color scheme yet.



I have narrowed it down to 2 PSU's

NZXT Hale 82 700w White ( Goes with my color scheme) $99

EVGA Supernova 650w Plus Gold $94.99 but with a $15 mail in rebate.


Not sure if these are overkill for my system as far as wattage goes, NEWEGG PSU calculator said I need around 400w for my current components. But I would like some room to add more ram and another GPU to crossfire..


Any thoughts as to something better suited for me for less money or stay with what I have? Thanks

XFX is made by Seasonic which is the best PSU maker so you don't really need to worry about it but just to be positive do a little research on it before you buy it but I would say that is a very good psu since its xfx and it is gold certified

in honesty, i would cut down the size of your psu to around 600W. don't bother with gold certified, as long as it is bronze 80+ it will do the job fine. use the money you save to get a better gpu! for around $40 more you can get a R9 270x

I would have gone with a different GPU but I already have it. I got it on sale $119 with 20 mail in rebate so $99. I couldnt pass it up for the money and I am on a tight budget of about 600-700 total for my whole build case included...

What are the reasons the NZXT sucks?? and EVGA is a rip off. Not super knowledgeable about PSU's to be honest. I know that Seasonic makes a good PSU as well as corsair

The NZXT sucks coz they change their OEM from Seasonic to Sirtec. Their seasonic built psu's are the favorites when it comes to white psu theme. The EVGA Nex 650w is based on a FSP raider which is for me should only worth $50-60.

The antec is a decent unit but the 2 psu i linked are better.
