Unidentified Network; No network access

Right. So my desktop PC has all of a sudden decided it's not going to connect to the internet, for absolutely no reason. This is the second time that this has happened; both times started when Mediacom's internet shorted out for no apparent reason, requiring a router restart. After this restart, all computers and Internet capable devices (Two Windows 7 laptops, one Macbook pro, one Macbook Air, two iPod Touches, two smartphones, an iPad and a Nintendo Wii) can connect again.

Except my desktop. For no. Freaking. Reason. Apparently.

Having wasted a couple hours on Google I'm done trying random solutions that get heralded as successful by tons of emote-spamming people yet don't work for me. I humbly and frustratedly ask for your assistance.

Router: Belkin (something Belkin, I'll get more specific data when I can if you need it.)
USB Wireless adapter: Netgear WNDA3100 v2

Ok, lets identify if it is a problem with the wireless adapter, or a problem with windows handling your internet connection.

I am assuming you are using wireless because your desktop is not in the same room as the router and you can not run ethernet to your desktop.
So temporarly move your desktop to the room with the router and connect it via an ethernet cable and let us know if you get internet connectivity that way.

Ok, then move your router upstairs and see if it gets network connectivity (you will not have internet, but you should at least get a network connection).

To make sure you get a network connection you can go to command prompt (start, type "cmd" in text box and hit enter), and type "ipconfig" if you get an IP address (192.168._ . ___) you have a network connection.

I think I may have done that already; I remember typing in "ipconfig" earlier while performing something or other trying to fix it and got the result 192.168.2.1

Judging by your statements and assuming I'm remembering the information correctly* that means that I do in fact have a connection. Does that mean Windows is dropping the ball as opposed to my adapter?

*Out of the house and posting from a laptop currently.

Did you type ipconfig and got 192.168.2.1 with the wireless adapter, or when plugged into ethernet??? If you get that with your wireless then that puts us in a completely different direction.

If you get network IP from the router then it is not a windows issue, it is an issue with your adapter.
