I have had my SLI GTX 670 for just over a year now and have not had micro-stutter in any game I have played. For that matter I have never had that problem on my two AMD/ATI rigs either. If your CPU and GPU are well matched I do not think that will be a problem.

I have a GTX 690 as well.
You can remove the micro stuttering by enabling Adaptive v-sync in the Nvidia control panel.
