dl'd cpu z and I have 1866 ram, and it's currently running at 668.9 * 2 and curious on how I can make it run at it's correct speeds

also is it safe to check for updates for bios and stuff using cpu z?

Solution
Look for the setting I mentioned earlier that automates the setup of the DRAM else can do manually as you found, though you would set freq to 1866 and the timings to to the spec timings on the DRAM

I went to the bios and saw dram timing and dram something else. the main menu shows it's running at 1333. I was too scared to mess with it. Wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing.

saw this post in another thread

Change Memory Frequency from [Auto] to [DDR3-1600MHz] (Section 3.4.5)

Adjust first four settings in DRAM Timing Control (Section 3.4.11)
Starting with CAS Latency, set to 9-9-9-27

Save and Exit BIOS.

any opinions on this? is this all I would need to do?

I appreciate any help I can get! thanks!

Either I'm a complete idiot/blind or something else, but I couldn't see any of those 3. I even wrote them down on a notepad before restarting so I wouldn't forget.

ugh! I saw dram timing and I think dram "driving"? I might be wrong, I saw those two below the OC settings.
