You can't overclock the Intel 4xxx series on the 1155 boards. It's been locked. And I don't reccomend buying the 3xxx series i7s, because they cost the same as the 4xxx series, but are older and a bit weaker. You can, however get a bit better OC on the 3770k than the 4770k. When you said "stick" with LGA1155, does that mean you already have an 1155 board? If so, you can stick with it, but you won't be able to OC your CPU, or just buy a 3770k.
Also, if you're just gaming, the i7 is useless.
However, there are a bunch of new CPU's coming soon (i7 4790) ect...
