first build computer shuts off after 45 seconds

hello

first build computer shuts off after 45 seconds of running.

lights and fans all come on

i have been thru the trouble shooting guide and checked everything.

my PSU -HX850 by Corsair tested and plugged into an APC UPS surge protector.

my motherboard--ASUS p8z77-v LK, nothing seems to be touching it and
my case-Corsair 600T--came with standoffs

no graphics card or soundcard that is separate.

my cpu--intel i7 3770k -- i don't know

2 128 GB SSD's and dvd player all sata connected

what could it be??

ideas, suggestions???

So you can see it boot to windows? Maybe it's the PSU...? Try it with another rig. But I can also see that you've written "tested and plugged, etcc"

I have a feeling you didn't mount the HSF correctly and the cpu is overheating.

the cpu fan is plugged in the right place in the motherboard and also the fan is spinning.

this cpu fan had thermal paste that was included on the bottom already

one thing maybe

i have a plug-- hdaudio

which is labeled from my case it handles the microphone and a heaset.

per my motherboard instructions was to plug this into Aiff slot on mother board

also there was an Ac97 plug in the case

it said these more or less the same

any experience with this??

just trying to go over where there may be an error

Did you remove the film over the thermal paste? Did you tighten it well?

i heard about this film, after i had installed the cpu -- but there was nothing in the directions. i could pull that out and take a closer look.

searching around there is no mention of film on the thermal paste fromt 3770k

I don't think it will matter whether you plug it into the ac97 or the hd audio controller..

someone suggested in a article to remove the usb 3.0 plug which is part of the 600t connection.

could it be that i did not connect the monitor- because i am just doing a test

No, your rig will boot even without the monitor. Something is really wrong with the hardware bro.

i removed the heat sink fan and processor and made sure that they were properly seated and installed correctly.

now if it is the cpu it is bad or the thermal paste included is bad, i tried removing ram and placing them in different order , i am still hopeful but

the problem remains.
