asus p8p67 code 55 memory issue

I have a asus p8p67 deluxe
I7 2600k
G-skill ddr3 1600 8mb
Dual gtx 460

I was given some corsair 1600 4-4gb when i attempted to install the memory i kept getting error code 55 "memory not installed" tried the memOK button that didn't work.
Anyone have any advice?

My brother is a computer wiz and he had me moving the ram all around. Cant remember exactly what combinatios we tried But The only time it worked was off one module. I checkes the qvl and that memory is not listed specifically... would that cause this issue? Its corsair vengance ddr3 1600 cant remember the timing off the top of my head.

Everytjing has been working fine with the g-skill ram ive been running. But when i tried this corsair ram it wouldnt work. Went back to the g-skill and works fine again
