Solution
From what I gather, that error (c0000005) comes from a bad memory reference causing access violation. Did anything change during this time? Update drivers, software? Windows updates?

Anyway, please disable A/V and run as administrator when running the game. Try different compatibility settings too.

If all goes wrong you can install a Windows XP virtual machine for these games, as they are old and work better with it. I know it's a bit extreme, but should work well. I bet you can even copy your saves too. You can check this out:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7

It's a free Widows XP virtual machine for licensed Windows 7 users, so no need to worry about a XP license.

EDIT: Just...
Considering you are playing a japanese locale game, have you set your system to support that? My... I mean... a friend of mine told me that his extensive experience with Hentai Bishoujo taught him to use a locale emulator like this:

http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.org/2013/05/locale-emulator-another-tool-for-japanese-locale-emulation/

This one replaces the old applocale. Try that, if it doesn't work we'll try something else. I mean... I'll ask my friend if I happen to see him.

My system is running Japanese locale.

EDIT: Just remembered XP mode is only for Professional, Ultimate or enterprise editions, if yours isn't one of those you'd have to try some other VM.

Well, during that time I did do a clean driver update for my graphics card and I updated my audio driver (I tried rolling back to the old audio driver, didn't fix it, I'll try rolling back to the older graphics card driver)
If that won't work, I'll try the virtual machine thingy and if that won't work I'll probably try to do a repair install on my windows and in the worst case a clean install of windows.
EDIT: Rolled back to my old video card drivers, that fixed the issue, thanks! (Wouldn't have even thought that it's driver related as it stated ntdll.dll in the error which is from the system)
