As of a month, my Harddisk seems to be malfunctioning. It started a month ago. I was playing a game, and heard clicking noises comming from my PC. I decided to reboot, but it refuses to reboot. It had an error ''Cannot locate Operating system'' I took out my HDD and checked it for dust, after which i returned it. It got to the Windows XP loading screen, on which it stayed for about 15 minutes. then the PC booted.

Once turned on and running, i noticed it took about 4 times aslong to unpack things with Winrar, and overall the PC seemed slow, so i decided to reinstall the PC. I turned out to be working, untill yesterday. The clicking noises returned. I restarted my PC and windows did a Disk check, after which it booted (Again 15 minutes loading screen)

I downloaded Crystaldisk Info, and this is what turned up:

Also, when i was watching something with VLC player earlier, the movie went out of sync regularily. (I dont know if thats related, or a Memory issue, or just simply a bad movie)

Thanks alot in advance, i hope you can help me.

Solution

Clicking noises would generally come from a moving part. There are 2 kinds of moving parts inside the case. Fans and drives.
Clicking is generally a hard drive.

Could my Jardisk being broken also be the cause of my entire computing appearing slow? When i have a game open, and some firefox tabs, i can't even play the game properly anymore. I did an Memtest and used Hotcpu tester Pro and both came out with zero errors

Yes. The system is trying to read sectors that are bad. It tries and tries, slowing the whole thing down. Or something simply not working at all.

Someone told me this ''Probably because of pagefile, if you run out of (v)ram it uses the hdd as a swapfile and with a defective hdd it isn't surprising anymore.''

How do i monitor it, and see if its indeed the problem?
