I am going to build my first system. I'll use it for as my work-from-home machine as well as some gaming. Base OS will be Win7 or 8.1.
Work mainly consists using Excel and small, <100MB, Access databases; running Chrome with,normally, 20+ tabs; running Firefox with 6-12 tabs; RDP sessions, 1-2; fairly regularly streaming video/youtube. Additionally I'd like to experiment with running virtual machines, 1-3(?), using Virtual Box and/or Windows Virtual PC.
Background/always on apps are: Box, Dropbox, and Google drive; Amazon Cloud Player and iTunes, ~250GB library; AVG and MalwareBytes; CrashPlan+ for backup.
PC gaming currently is limited to COD: World at War and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (both on Steam).
I hope this is a comprehensive enough list to provided informed feedback.

One of my concerns is the case I am planning on using supports a 160mm CPU cooler and the cooler I am planning on using is 159mm. Should I look at a different combination?

I currently run two monitors: a 26" via HDMI as my primary; a 19 via DVI as my secondary. I plan on replacing both with matching 19" or 21" DVI MONITORS. I will most likely add a third monitor of the same size as the replacements.
While I like the idea of being able to add an additional video card, which if I understand correctly I would be able to if I go with the 7850, I don't know if I would need to if I used one of the other outputs on the 770. Extra appreciation for your thoughts on this point.
