Black border letterbox

Hello everyone,

My native computer resolution is 1920 x 1080. However when I wish to change to a lower resolution say 1600 x 900 it doesn't stretch and fill the screen, it just centers in my screen with black boarders all around. This happens in my games as well that run on lower resolutions.

This has never happened before, just today.

Help?

Check monitor settings / auto adjust settings. Also, check the display driver's settings. There maybe an option that's centering it. Reboot and see if it behaves the same way.

It is centered, it just doesn't fill the entire screen anymore. There are black borders all around like letterboxing. I have both nvidia and intel graphics cards and I don't see any centering options

Thanks for helping so far, I broke my screen and needed to get it replaced, its a laptop so the screen is the same model. I don't think that is the issue but that is th eonly thing that happened to my computer recently
