More case fans than MoBo Onboard fan connectors...

Hey guys,

So if my case has more available chassis fans than the mobo has 4 pin fan connectors for fan control software, is there a way to split the 2 fans into some sort of a adapter so i can use 2 fans for one MoBo 4 pin fan connector?

You can try it. But I'm not sure how well that will work with PWM fans. Also, with 2 fans' feedback, the RPM might not be accurate.

And remember, most fan headers are only rated at 1 amp. 2 fans should be OK, but don't press it.

so maybe I should just buy a fan controller that fits in my HDD cage huh?

That would be the more professional way to do it, yes.

I've never had need of one, but I would probably start my search at Newegg. Here is a selection of controller panels listed in order of best rating. There are also some other types of controller panels besides fan controllers, so be careful. Look for ones that work with PWM (4 wire) fans, of course.
