I have a Dell xps 8700 and want to upgrade the power supply and video card. The psu in there I think is a 460W.

I have a GeForce 760 2GB that I want to use, which requires at least a 500W psu).
The power supply I have on hand is a Corsair AX1200 (yes, I know, overkill, but I got it for free).

Well, I can't put in the corsair because it's just way too long to fit! The power supply that comes with the dell measures about 5.9" in length. There are these metal clips built to hold the psu in place, but anything bigger won't fit (unless you cut them out somehow). I can push one of them in, but not the other.

Most of the 700W psu's measure about 6.3", which is still too long.

Maybe I should just send it back to Dell. I got a pretty good deal on this system, so it's a shame to send back.

Any help?
