sata 1 status bad repair or replace... help please!! Asus comp.. at least need to get pics and data off before it dies but win

Sata 1 status bad repair or replace on an asus desktop.. don't have a backup hd but need to get data and pics off.. windows 7 begins to start up but wont actually start up..

buy an external hard drive enclosure and put the failing drive into it, then plug the enclosure in to USB port ony any working computer and rescue your data from it. Then buy a new hard drive.

You should always keep backups on another hard drive (preferably two) at all times. Having no backups of files you don't want to lose is just asking for trouble.
