Is there a Win8.1 mouse Lag fix for games yet?

I have been holding off updating my Win8 system to 8.1 because I heard there is a huge issue with mouse lag. Recent google searches I've done suggest that the fix has been put out by MS, but it doesn't work for all games?

Please let me know if there is a surefire fix for this issue. I don't feel like doing registry tweaks every time I want to play a new game.

It looks like Microsoft provided a per game registry hack to work around the problem until you get a new driver from the mouse manufacture or updated game software that puts the hack in for you. That update was the fix as far as the OS is concerned no reason to expect another update.
