The stock coolers are made for stock 3.4 GHz ( not more )
They will be just fine untill you do not overclock.
It's not like it might be risky.... it will!!

Go for an air cooler then, but you should not be afraid of a watercooler.
You just mount them and install the CPU block just like an AIR cooler, and you are free to go.

A good overclocking CPU cooler is 212 EVO
+ low cost
+ good cooling

Hey

4,5 GHz is pretty much, however you can go there with a water cooling, the red thingy is useless then
I went with mine to 4.2 with a 212 EVO, on 78C on max load.

A watercooling is what am i thinking off you need, h100i is the best, that will cool even such a beast.

*update : If you have the stock cooler never overclock!

The stock cooler couldn't even keep my 4770k cool @ 3.4 ghz. I upgraded to the h100i, and I can vouch for its performance. Even at 100% load, though keep in mind, I am still @ 3.5 ghz, it never goes past 65c.
