Your hard drive might need replacement if you hear some sounds coming out of it or if it randomly freezes sometimes.

Please describe what are the symptoms that prompted you to think you might need to replace your internal HDD.

You might also want to run a chkdsk on the drive and check it's SMART status. There are plenty of free utilities on the internet to check a drive's SMART status.
