Planning on playing Elder Scrolls Online.

If you have enough GPU power I'd go 4k most defenitely over 1440p.

I personally have the PB278Q, and its a nice monitor. Its 60hz though, unlike the ROG 1440p which is 120hz but TN panel. Still pb278q is a fantastic monitor.

I have 2 gtx 780ti classy's in an oc water cooled system, and I just got the pb287q 4k, to replace my pb278q. The dual classy's can drive ESO at max settings in sli (true full screen) at solid 60fps. I'm using the latest beta drivers. I looks really nice. The black levels are not as good as the pb278q, but the game has 4k textures, and they are noticeably better than the textures you get at 1440p, yeah .. you'll notice the way maps and other stuff looks better. Now, I don't think 580's, even 3way sli, are going to be able to drive 4k without turning everything down, also!!! you need display port 1.2 or you'll be stuck at 30fps max, which is terrible. Also, think you need a newer card for that g-sync tech.
