Hi Guys,

I recently built a gaming PC, and encountered some issues whereby my computer wouldn't power at all.

I tried to replace the PSU still no luck, then i sent my Motherboard back to Ebuyer and they said they tried with same CPU and it worked fine (have to take their word for it)

I sent them pictures of my CPU they said it looked like it had a bent pin,
So i have just ordered a new AMD FX-6300 CPU.

But my question is: Could it be due to incompatibility issues with the CPU and Motherboard? How can i find out the BIOS rev if i have no power? Will the default BIOS version work with the AMD-FX 6300?

Your help would be much appreciated! :)

Thanks,

Tom

Your BIOS revision may be on your box for the MB on the sticker which has the serial number. Sometimes, it is printed on the board. Did you PC NEVER boot? If so then the bent pin is the culprit. If it did it after a while, then you reseated the CPU wrong you may have damaged the processor, but had other issues beforehand.

Thank you for your response! OK thanks that is the answer i was looking for, I have never had any power the PSU sort of flashes then goes off.

I looked on Gigabyte's website and it says the motherboard is compatible with the CPU but only if the BIOS version is a certain version (can't remember which one), but even if the BIOS version wasn't up to date surely i would get some sort of power?
