Looking to begin water cooling, can anyone lend a hand?

Hello, as the title says - i'm looking to start water cooling my system I recently built but I have no experience water cooling so far.

Basically I need a hand getting some questions answered and picking parts as i'm not 100% sure on what I need, I have gathered a few bookmarks here and there to get a rough idea and have been comparing them to starting kits.

This is what i've gathered so far -

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-supremacy-elite-intel-2011-cpu-water-block
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/33m-(10ft)-masterkleer-1-2-id-3-4-od-hose-dark-green-uv-boxed (Not sure if the diameters are enough, should I go bigger?)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/bitspower-premium-bp-cpf-cc5-g1-4-silver-shining-compression-fitting-cc5-for-id-1-2-od3-4-tube (Currently no price on these, but it seems nickel-silver is the best to stop algae forming)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-coolstream-rad-xt-(360) x 2 maybe
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/alphacool-laing-vpp655-d5-pump-t12-(1-2-barbed-connectors)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-bay-spin-reservoir-white-acetal-csq
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-ekoolant-blood-red-1000ml-includes-additives-against-algae-and-corrosion

Sorry for the link spam, not so sure if there's a tidier way of posting them.

I have a few questions to ask too -

  • Is it worth cooling a GPU? For example, dual GTX 780 Ti's? Would there be much of a temperature drop?
Roughly how many compression fittings should I need?

  • I've seen a few people posting warnings about having to replace failed parts - Is this a common thing with water cooling, how likely are they to fail?

If this helps any, here are my specs -

    i7 4930K @ 4.6Ghz
    Corsair H100i
    16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2133Mhz
    Corsair AX1200i PSU
    Asus Rampage IV Extreme
    2 x EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC
CoolerMaster HAF X case - But i'm hoping to upgrade to a Corsair 900D.

    Thanks in advance :)

Some of the links are broken, but I can tell the components your going for. Looks fine to me, though you dont want to use a bottled coolant, especially a dyed one. Most of the water-cooling guys here, including myself, all recommend Distilled water. If you want colour in your loop, do it through tubing and lighting effects.

1. Arguably its more worthwhile to watercool a GPU than it is to cool a CPU. My 7970 runs at 40°C under 100% load, while on the stock (reference design though) it was more like 67°C.

2. As a general rule, you need two fittings per component. Though it is best to get an image of your case, and draw out how you think the loop will work. That will tell you how many fittings you need, and where you would want to put angle adapters.

3. Nope, water-cooling is relatively high risk kind of thing, so everything is very well made. Components failing/leaking out of the box is basically unheard of.

Brilliant! Thank you for the help.
I didn't know that about dyed coolant, i'll pick up some distilled water instead.

It seems before I start water cooling I should look into why I just got three blue screens (0124 - Hardware Error) since I posted his thread... sigh.
