Yesterday I was gaming on my computer. Right in the middle of something my computer turned off like there was a power surge or something (however this was not the case). Right after turning off it attempted to turn back on but quickly turned back off again. Now it will not turn back on again when I press the power button. I assume this problem has something to do with my PSU or Motherboard. But I would like to know what happened and how I can fix it.

That would most likely be that your power supply blew out (its a rather cheap low quality power supply).
You should get another power supply Seasonic, XFX, or some of the Corsair series would be a reliable replacement.

I do hope that the power supply didn't take anything else with it. When my old cheap one blew it took my motherboard with it.

Something like this would work well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096 or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028
