GPU Power usage upto 150%

Hello, recently I have been trying to play battlefield 4 however I can only play it for around 3 minutes (if that) before my GPU power usage spikes at 150% turning my screen black and then recovering after around 2-5 seconds. Sometimes this even crashes my whole computer making me hold down the power button to completely shut it down and then starting it back up as usual.

Does anyone know whats going on and if it can be fixed?

ok, sorry man, I just thought it may have been a defualt problem.
Specs:
GTX 650ti Boost
AMD-FX 8350 @4ghz
Gigabyte ga-970a
Corsair 8GB 1600mhz
2x1TB WD Green
CoolerMaster seidon cpu cooler
Corsair GS700 700w PSU

and after that download the latest drivers for your card directly from nvidia site and do not play on ultra graphics because it is no real gain when it comes to visuals and it eats away your gpu for nothing. set everything on high and all the anti-aliasing off, this way the game is more clear and runs nice. Hope it works for you, happy gaming.
