im wanting to build a gaming pc for the first time and i was wondering wether this setup would be able to play games such as minecraft, cod ghosts and bf4.

intel i5 4670
either:gigabyte G1 sniper z87 or MSI z87 g45
corsair vengeance RAM 8Gb (2x4)
WD caviar 1TB hard drive
Gigabyte Radeon R9 280x

is this a good setup to be able to play games on high settings or good settings.
if not could you suggest any improvements for this carnt spend too much more money.
and is there anything i could cut down on to save more money.
thanks for any replies:)

Yes it is good

Depending on where you live, the gtx 770 should be cheaper than the 280X and a bit faster so its something to consider

Change the cpu to a 4670k if you are going to overclock as it would better suite your choice of motherboard, if you are not, step the motherboard down to a H87/H81 chipset

Oh... and BTW, don't use your stock Intel CPU cooler. Get a decent cooling solution. You either go with CLC that the radiators need appropriate fan mounting space or some huge-ass heat sinks that you'll probably need to decide before buying a case or the other way around.
