I have heard that when a computer starts up it automatically uses the full four cores in a cpu but the same person said you could set your motherboard to "quiet boot" or stop that effect in BIOS. Ive also heard something similar about the gpu being fully used when computer starts. I guess there's some settings to change to stop them from doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Here's my mb and gpu:

MB: AsRock Extreme3 Amd 3
GPU:Radeon hd 6670 1gb ddr5ram

Solution
SYstem should use all cores to boot to Windows, as you don't want it hanging around all day.

Quiet boot, normally means that you don't get to see all post information and is normally hidden by the splash screen.

Personally, don't touch anything.

I understand what you're saying but doesn't it effect the longevity of the CPU? I'm just wondering if it's beneficial in that way to make the CPU last longer? Perhaps it is best not to tamper with things seeing as how this is my first build. Thank you for your input.
