my system specs:
GPU: SAPPHIRE HD7750 1GB GDDR5
PSU: corsair builder cx430
OS: Windows 8.1 pro 64-bit
-----
CPU: Athlon II x4 620
MOBO: M3N78-VM
mobo chipset: nForce 720a

gpu stock clock:800mhz
gpu stock memory clock: 1125mhz

i only overclock my gpu clock, NOT THE MEMORY CLOCK
temperatures of the gpu (and all the other components) are really low

I use software overclocking (MSI afterburner or Sapphire trixx). many people on the internet seem to easily overclock to a safe 900mhz without increasing the volt regulator(?). yet when i overclock games it seems to fail.

i have been doing some test and will note them down here:
overclocking to 840 work fine
to 860 seems to make it stutter some times
to 875 make it stutter continuously
higher clock crashes the game but not the driver neither flashes , i can still ctrl+alt+del and end the game which shows as not responding

game looks normal with sleight overclock, no artefacts, i am new to oc but I have some idea of what I’m doing

the first i would think of is a low psu but no the psu is 80plus bronze with 430watt ,7750 doesn’t use much power (55 watt i think)
neither do i suppose it has to do with amps, it’s a low gpu
i have been running the same gpu on an old 350 watt psu and benchmarked it then.

is it my mobo?
does anyone have any suggestion?

Not every chip overclocks the same. Even though your temps are good, the fact that it fails only when overclocked suggests you just didn't get as lucky as some in the overclocking lottery.
