Solution
Go into disk management. You can just find that by typing it into Windows search. There you can right click partitions and extend, shrink, etc.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. But, if you want to run Windows 7 and not windows Vista, boot through the drive where you have disk and install windows as an upgrade. If you can't get that to work, as a last resort, you can move your data to a backup drive, then do a clean install (which would mean wiping your current drive and installing brand new). And then move your data back to the drive after the install is done.

Sorry I was not clear. I have Vista home premium 32 bit on my computer. I installed Windows 7 professional oem as a custom install. Instead of windows 7 overriding Vista, it created a dual boot where I can go on windows 7 or vista. vista is working okay. Windows 7 is not due since both operating systems are running, I have low disk space on recovery d. Drive c has a little bit of space. My computer does not have enough operating space to run both systems. I would like to know how to delete vista off my computer and just run windows 7. thanks

Are you 100% sure you system will support Windows 7? That might be your problem. Make sure it is Windows 7 32-bit. Otherwise your hardware might not support it.

Right-click Computer -> Click Properties. On the left panel you should see "Advanced system settings". Click that. You should be brought to the system properties familiar to NT 5.0 and 5.1 (2000 and XP). Click the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery box.

Vista and 7 no longer allow you to edit the boot file from here since it uses a newer boot system. This screen will still allow you to just boot straight to 7. Make sure the Default Operating System is set to 7. Uncheck "Time to display list of operating systems:" and hit OK. Now you won't SEE Vista as an option anymore.

Now it's time to REMOVE it. Right-click Computer -> Click Manage -> Select Disk Management. Vista and 7 use a separate partition for the boot record. DO NOT touch this partition. Find the partition Vista is on, right-click it, and click Delete Volume. Hit 'Yes' on the confirmation screen and you're done with Vista. You can now extend 7 onto that partition.

Okay I went into windows 7 and it will allow me to delete volume but what will that do? My d drive is still at maximum. i can not do anything with windows 7. Because windows 7 has taken over my d partition and vista is in my c partition. I am asking because I am confused. I am not a computer person. How do I extend 7 into that partition?
