Default launcher issue

After I tried to put a file into a game, I selected a program and used winrar and now all of my desktop launchers are just winrar launchers. How do I un-break my computer?

Since there could be multiple programs/shortcuts on the desktop, repairing each and every one of them could be a daunting task. The easiest way would be to un-install Winrar, restart the PC, let Windows re-assign the default programs for all your shortcuts, then re-install Winrar; make sure you don't select it as default for the type of file you want it to open.

I uninstalled winrar and restarted my computer as you said. But it didn't re-assign the default programs as you said. Instead, it made all the shortcuts blank files and if I click on any of them it says to open the file with a program. I haven't done that obviously but it still shows my applications as blanks.
