Hi, i currently have a problem on what to upgrade. i have around £100-£150 and have a few ideas in mind but cannot come around to making a decision. I have also been having some FPS issues, whjen my GPU is at stock clocks it works worse than when i underclock it. in battlefield i rarely hit 60!
1. Get a corsair RM750
2. Get a Fx-8320
3. Get a OCZ ModXStream pro 700w plus kingston 120gb SSD
4. Get a kingston 120Gb SSD and noctua case fans
Take into consideration that i want my pc to be quiet, my current psu has recently became very load and annoying.
i have a phenom 965
R9 280x
asus M5A99X
Corsair H60
8gb ram
FPS 600w PSU 80+ certified
1tb hitatchi HDD

Well if the PSU is making noises and such then first thing to get is a new PSU

You can also look at a FX 6300 (should be able to get a PSU and the 6300 for £120/130 or less) instead of a 8320/8350 though with a R9 280X i would rather have a 8xxx series CPU myself

About the performance issues check temps of CPU and GPU, whether or not they are too high, could be a reason for low performance. And check if drivers are up to date for GPU, could also be a BIOS issue (could upgrade to latest BIOS)

Also is the 965 overclocked? If not then maybe try overclocking the 965 and see if the performance issues still remain (its a older CPU but its still good enough for gaming). Im guessing you have 2 sticks of RAM (totaling 8GB) running in dual...

I would get a PSU first and then after checking drivers etc would I look for another upgrade (whether a new CPU or SSD). It could very well be that your PSU is causing problems by not being able to deliver the power needed by motherboard/CPU/GPU etc if its making those noises you speak of
