Umm yes the i3 will in blizzard games or any games that use only 2 threads the way higher IPC generates much higher fps then the fx 6350. Lightely threaded apps is the fx 6350s weakness. So it depends on the usage I wouldn't recommend an fx6350 for games like StarCraft 2 the i3 gets about 30-35 more fps in games like that. If youre just using a computer for basic browsing or higher threaded games then take the fx6350

100% the 6300 series. The i3 will not smoke it in anything despite what the previous poster said. The 6300 is a much better all around purchase for gaming, productivity, anything really. The only area I see the i3 excelling is older games that only use 2 cores.

The FX 6300 runs Starcraft 2 or any Blizzard game at 60fps easily, I have a system built with one and built a mobile lan system for my brother using the haswell i3 this year. Both cpus run any blizzard game fine and definitely not a 30fps difference, the difference in WoW and Starcraft was about5 fps both running with a GTX 770. Where are you getting those figures? I build systems with all of these cpus throughout the year, the difference's are much more staggering with other applications, not a big difference at all with ANY game as long as they are paired with a good gpu. Intel's cores are a quite a bit stronger for single threaded apps, as far as games are the 6300 will fair much better with new games and will handle fine with older.

I would have to agree. Getting an i3 over the 6300 would be a big mistake, overall, for any new software and old software, you are better off the FX. Now if you were talking i5 or 6350 I'd say i5, but dual core is just not a smart choice for your rig with things headed in multi-core direction software wise.
