My SATA power cable will not connect, does not matter how much pressure I put on it.

Also, can I build a PC and not use a HDD if I use a large USB instead?

It only goes one way, and if there is something wrong with the plug on the hard drive, you should be able to see it.

It is a SATA power plug isn't it.

You can run on a USB, but it would be slow even with USB 3 I'm pretty sure.

Heck you can run a computer on a floppy.

My first 2 computers didn't even have hard drives.
They had a 4" floppy for the system, and another for the programs.

edit
yep, slow.
These are hard drives, but it shows the interface speeds.

That is not a SATA power cable, as far as I can see.

The key is in the right place, but it should be a slot about a 1/4 deep.

I see 5 holes with dividers in between.

Maybe it is just the pic
