Have a look at the print screen i put up taken from CPUBOSS comparing the i5 3470 and 750k.
I'm very confused how the i5 has much better score marks when the 750k beats it in everything nearly.
why is that so can you guys explain please? maybe the website is missing details
thanks

Solution
U cant compaire a intel and amd cpu based on specs.
the 750k doesnt have lvl 3 cach which hurts alot when gaming(if i remember right)
The i5 has 4 VERY STRONG core will the 750k is medium to low end compaired to the i5.
1 haswell core is perform around 1.5-1.8 times better than a (i forgot the architecture, Bulldozer perhaps?) 750k core.
however, since ur going for the 3470. the 750k does allow u to better overclock. while for the i5, u will be able to oc only around 500mhz.
On the other hand, the 750k is only good for buget build, like REALLY REALLY budget build. So your prob not gonna get the proper gear to get a proper oc.
I would suggests a fx6300 instead of the 750k if u have the money.
The i5 has better core strength.
Other than that the 750k has better value compared to performance.

The reason the i5 scores higher on benchmarks is because synthetic benchmarks are synthetic. They dont compare directly to real word performance.

Even being an AMD fan I can tell you that the i5-3470 will outperform even the fx6300. That being said the fx6300 is a great CPU and is quite a bit cheaper, if you are on a budget and could use the money on your build somewhere else it would not be a bad choice going with the fx6300. But if you have what you want for other components and you have the money to spend the i5 will serve you better in the end!

Thanks for the answer
I already have the 750k i was just asking out of curiosity as i saw someone streaming from a computer with that i5-3470 where as when i tried the 750k struggled.
If we were to compare the i5-3470 with no OC to a 750k OC to about 4.2 ghz or possibly higher
which one would be stronger then? and why ?
thanks again will be waiting for your reply

a 4.6ghz fx 8320 would be comparable to a intell i5 4670k at stock.
that is a 8 core cpu with a better architecture.
No matter how u oc, the i5 will win, thats the difference btween at 80$ cpu and a 240$ one
Why are they stronger? intel has stronger core, better aarchitecture, better everything.
If u want details, u better find some1 that works for intel

While I agree with most of that, intel does not have better everything. AMD runs with actual physical cores compared to hyper threaded ones. It also has a much lower price/performance ratio.
