Hi - first post but if you are all nice I'll be back :) since I'm always having problems...

So I listened to music on my laptop (Acer Aspire 5332) last night and today after work I find all the sound from my speakers and headphone jack have a resonance to it. I have no idea what's happened because I haven't really touched it! I doubt it is a hardware problem and all seems to check out fine but I thought I'd ask here.

I've restarted my laptop and everything and it's still the same. I did install a new version of java and my computer was a bit slow at one point so I closed some processes down but all should have been restored to normal after a restart.

I wonder if I just pressed the wrong button somewhere, sometime? Any help and/or suggestions would be wonderful! I'd hate to reboot.

Thanks in advance.

dont know about your sound but what on earth do you use java for? its nothing but a malware magnet and outside of some business applications is pretty much useless. try a system restore to before you installed the java update to see if your sound goes back to normal.then i would delete java from your computer.i havent had it for a couple of years now.

Well, just tried that and it is still messed up. Deleted java too - I thought it was Flash when I updated yesterday. This is driving me crazy because I don't know what I did!!!
