Hey, I would really like if someone could help me with this:

After a cold start my PC turns off/on automatically 1-2 times before it actually boots. Then a message appears saying Overclocking failed.

I never overclocked my PC and... The funny thing is sometimes this message does not appear, and if it doesn't appear the audio is good.

If the message appears and I decide to continue the audio will stutter and I will have a considerable drop of FPS (from 60 to 30-15)

have you tried resetting your bios either with the cmos jumper or removing the cmos battery for a minute or so and reinstalling?

I removed the CMOS battery for like 5 minutes and when I put it back in place the turn off/on automatically was fixed but now I have a new problem... Nothing appears on my screen. The PC doesn't seem to recognise the keyboard, mouse and the monitor

try going into your bios and make sure onboard video is disabled and your dedicated video card is enabled. if this doesnt work go into your bios and make sure keyboard and mouse support is enabled.

Well, I fixed the nothing on the screen problem by removing the battery and putting it back again. The sound problem fixed itself for some reason during that session But... I turned off my PC for the night and when I came back and turned it ON again no overclocking message appeared but the audio stuttering was there. I got a microsoft net frame error tho. Not sure if related.

These are eerily similar symptoms to my girlfriend's build I put together back in the day. Her rig was sporadic. Over time I went to upgrade parts. What happened was I noticed the new parts seemed to just not "stay on". After days and hours of troubleshooting I figured out that the case was shorting the parts. I couldn't figure out how so I just replaced the case and moved on. I hope it's something much more simple. If it is the case perhaps you can use some washers or spacers to overcome any shorting out. I cannot conclude based on what I see here that it's in fact the same issue or not. Just thought I'd share in case nothing else seems to be helping you figure it out. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted! (no pun intended there).

Also, I'm sure you have but the simplest thing like making sure all parts are plugged in 110% secure can be all the difference. It could be simply that your audio jack is a little out causing shorts/instability.

Thanks,

Justin S.

And my temps

Here are my comps. Also when I ran dxdiag that error box appeared, I'm googling about it now.
Another thing I noticed is that the audio stuttering only happens when I'm at the window that is playing the video/game. If I switch windows the sound will be good

when did this problem start, because i would have said 2gb of ram is not enough. 4gigs would make a heck of a difference on just about everything that pc does. i would also want to check my temps when playing the game in question

It started like 3-5 months ago. My PC is like 4-5 years old. Just a quick question, if I got more ram would I be able to play more recent games or would I need to buy a new graphic card?
I can't play games like dead island or firefall and I can't afford a new computer

I will post the temp changes tomorrow, it's late here and I need to get up early. thx for the replies guys :D

Btw, it's not only in games, this also happens in youtube videos

Another update: The temps don't change whenever I play a video and the audio stuttering continues.

Another thing, the audio shuttering only happens when movement occurs such as animations. For example: In LoL if I stick my camera to my character the audio will shutter and the fps will drop by half. If I move the camera from my character to somewhere it doesn't have any movement the sound will be just fine and my fps will be normal.

Also noticed that if the video has VERY small dimensions (weight/height) the audio will be considerably better. And like I said before, if I switch windows to one that is not playing the video the sound will be good. In LoL login screen if I disable the animation and only allow the music the sound will also be good.

P.S - Tried to switch to youtube html5 but the problem still occurs. Tried changing video definition but it's the same

P.P.S - Videos I play using BS player work just fine even in fullscreen o.o No audio stuttering, no slowdowns. Just perfect o.o
