Hi,

I'm currently in the middle of building my first computer, and while it is going mostly well I have run into a few issues. So once i finished putting everything together i did a test boot, and everything was running fine but the ram. I got an error which said, "the following channel memory did not pass the CPU memory test. Please remove the memory then plug in again." It also only displayed 4gb of the 8gb ram. So I took it out and put it back in, and still the same thing. So i tried them individually in each slot, and i got one working, but now neither will work, and nothing is coming up on my screen either.

Im not sure if this is related to the ram at all, though i can turn the computer on with the power button, though I can't turn it off. And when it did turn off, both ram sticks were in, but it didn't turn off when just the working stick was in.

Thanks in advance for any help. I do have some other minor problems but they can be addressed later.

I took the motherboard out of the case and just did an external build. It's definitely faulty ram as i checked all the ram slots and one of the sticks worked in all of them while the other didn't. With both sticks in it only displays 3838MB of total memory.
