i've been using my old Pentium 4 631 for a while now and it's just not holding up to the games i've been trying to play (league of legends, vindictus, etc) so i've decided to finally get a upgrade for this thing. My motherboard is a Foxconn P4M9007MB-8RS2H and based on some researching i've decided to maybe buy a Intel Quad Core Q6600, now im wondering is it worth the price or should i just get something lower pricing that might be better?

The only CPUs that board can use that are better than the Q6600 are the Q6700, QX6700 and QX6800. Not sure what you would pay for the Q6600 or for the others, but you can always get lucky with a good deal sometimes.

Q6600 is quite good even though its a much older CPU, so unless you are paying lots of $$ for it it should be a good upgrade (Ive seen these CPUs for around 50 dollars on ebay but Im not sure which country you are in so the prices might be different).

Also for gaming upgrading to 2 sticks of Memory/RAM will help as well, your motherboard can support up to 4GB of DDR2 667mhz RAM/Memory so maybe get 2 sticks of 2GB if you can

One more thing, are you using a dedicated GPU?
