My ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard has an IDE1 socket..... Is this epically awesome, or is this just, bleh? It also has 10 sata ports.

IDE was how you connected hard drives, CD-ROM drives, etc. before SATA came along and sped everything up. It's only awesome if you really needed it for compatibility with older hardware.

Yes, it is epically awesome!!! I've got a couple of IDE drives lying in the drawer since 2002. I could actually use that MB to see what's on them...

The part about 10 SATA ports is impressive, but these days I'd rather use USB 3 externals.
