I have not built a PC in quite some time so please bear with me. This is a little backwards but I got a good deal on an i7 4771 CPU & Define R4 case. What is a good Motherboard for this CPU?

I do not plan on playing any games but I will be using Corel X6 Graphics Suite quite often and doing some video editing. Asus and Gigabyte are the brands I'm considering.

Ideas?

What you PLAN on & what actually happens sometimes conflict. I urge you to Look at the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD7 TH Motherboard. While not aimed at gaming or overclocking - It can. What I like is its ability to swap it's WiFi Board for Future Upgrades. Not to mention FAST USB & Thunderbolt ports. It is Perfect for the i7 4771 CPU . PLEASE take a look at this Board, It offers a Lot. For me, this is the only board to buy ( at the moment ) Jan 2014. That may change in a year or two due to newer tech.

Our house has RJ45 jacks so I don't need Wi-Fi for a desktop. This will be mostly a work computer. We have another computer that is used for games.

I was looking at the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H. My goal is a good fast a stable PC.

I know. I too was working with 3 computers in the house. Karma has a way of Inflicting Damage on you & your home. Computers Die due to hard drive failure & Viruses. PLEASE - Back Up your Back Up with this Board GA-Z87X-UD7 TH. If it is Money related, don't buy a video card, this board has pretty good video, you can add a video card later IF you wish. OR get the GA-Z87X-UD5 TH - I am harping on this a little because I have seen it happen time after time after time, Computers Die, make a Small Investment in your future NOW - Trust Me, It WILL pay off later. - The i7 4771 CPU is great for these boards. I can't twist your arm or I WOULD. I can only say, Don't be sorry later when the other 2 are broke and all the sudden you need WiFi or HDMI.
