I have a feeling this is in the wrong place? didn't know where to post it.

hello tom'shardware,

I only have sound coming through the right speaker of my headset. I plugged it into another computer and it is the same thing. I assume that its a loose wire and unless I know what I am doing, should get a new headset?

advice would be appreciated!

thanks

Solution
Could be a dead driver in one ear, but more than likely the cable.
Look for any physical damage to the cable.
Typically the wires inside a very thin and you may not be able to see any damage.
Sometimes wiggling the offending part of the cable (often near the plug) will make it work temporarily.

If you are lucky enough to have a detachable cable, replace this.
If not, you may be able to get the headphones open and solder in a new cable.
Other than this, you may need a new headset.

If you can return it I would.
If you can't, you might as well try.
I've done it many times, on a crappy set, that I kept breaking.

If it is in the wire, that is hard to find, but if it is in the phones themselves, it is just 2 connection, on each side.
The only thing is you have to know how to solder.
