Hello, I've been having quite a huge problem for the last couple of weeks. My pc had been fine or about a year, when suddenly I started getting errors. Any game with good graphics doesn’t want 2 run anymore. Even some of the older games seem to have stopped working. Last week I took the pc for a check up. There they told me it was my drivers, so they replaced and updated them all. Unfortunately the problem seems to be persisting.

I have tried reinstalling all my games with no luck. I hope that someone can help me as I am at a loss at what to do. My pc specs are as follows:

Intel i5-3470 3.20 GHz
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
Windows 8 64bit

First off, I'm sure that the hardware is fine. :(

Question, What exactly is happening? Is the game starting then crashing or does it start up and before you see anything crash? I would start with a guess that the video drivers are the problem, but that is pure speculation but from experience the most probable.

Have you looked at the event log? Hit the Start button and type in 'Events' and under Windows/application. Wouldn't hurt to look at security and system for errors as well as application issues.

Sometimes having the latest drivers is not the best solution as it depends where the drivers come from. Example, if you have a video card, should the drivers come from the OEM that is fine but if you get what Microsoft sometimes things is the current driver you might end up with trouble as these are generic drivers for what it determines is the video chipset/card that you are running and they may be causing problems.

Another cause could be (since a lot of programs don't run) is security. Something happened and the user running the applications don't have access to something. Since you said that you reinstalled and didn't mention problems that doesn't sound all that probable. If you are running the user with admin rights that would be even less probable but still possible.

Another possibility is that you might have installed some software that is interferring but I can't think of anything other than something like a DVD hacking drivers to bypass encryption or secrom. But as you said that you reinstalled the games that is probably out. :(

Waiting for more info. Thanks.
