Are deleted drivers still in system restore?

For the GTX 650, you have to delete all the old drivers. Are the old drivers still in the system restore and could they cause problems with the new driver?

Good question. I believe that the answer is yes.

Here's a link that refers to the caching of drivers. Not specific to video drivers but it shows that when you 'uninstall' hardware using the system device manager that it does remove the drivers from cache if there is an option as shown in the article.

I'd search further on 'how to delete cached video drivers' and I'm sure you'll find an answer quickly as it is a common problem when uninstalling.

Also, I found this solution at times works for me. Boot up in safe mood and go into the Device Manager and uninstall/delete things in safe mode. In safe mode, at least Windows XP I would see a list of a lot of old hardware that I had installed and deleted a long time ago or USB devices that were attached at one time that simply wouldn't show up when I booted as my primary admin account. Strange that you get to see everything in this mode and not normally. but..
