What's the difference between the asus z87 plus vs the z87 pro besides $40? I did a compare on newegg and the only two things I could make out was the improved audio codec, built in wifi and one extra sata cable for the z87 pro. Is that seriously the only difference?

The Pro has a couple x1 slots opposed to the regular PCI slots also and a full Display port vs the Plus mini Display port

And what's the difference between the mini and full display port?

So should I be concerned at all if I want a monitor to be connected by HDMI with the possibility of a dual monitor setup in the future? I'll have a discrete graphics card. Should I be concerned at all with the display port provided by the mobo?

Not sure what discrete card you have, but the mobo display outputs are for the on board GPU in the CPU, your discrete card has it's own outputs, you can normally run 1, 2, 3 or more off monitors off the card itself, I normally run 2 or more (have three on my Haswell build using a 280X, 2 DVI and 1 HDMI)

Ok thanks

I'll be using the GTX 770

In other words, I don't have to worry about it. There is no reason for me to go for the PRO over the PLUS.

You're fine with the 770 can run your monitors easily, and not really, the Plus should be fine :)
